This is a bug in the current cPanel version and a fix is on the way as per @cPanelLauren mentioned earlier if I recall.

Thanks @andrew.n and @kodeslogic that's correct, it is an issue with the transfer tool and is being fixed currently.

Currently experiencing this now. running: whmapi1 unset_all_service_proxy_backends username=cpanelusername Doesnt remove the .htaccess entries mail are also not being routed/delivered checking mail delivery shows this error: also getting lookup of host "xxxxxx" failed in manualmx router update: running "whmapi1 unset_manual_mx_redirects domain=XXXX" and restarting Exim seems to have fixed the deliverability issue

The Xs in that example are the domain name of the account you are working with.

Hi.. just checking if the Transfer Tool issues were fixed? @cPanelLauren would you be able to confirm? I just completed a transfer, and didnt notice any Apache related issues, but the DNS Zone entries in the source servers are changed to the target server. Is there a way to avoid that? Has it always been like this? Edit: ok you can ignore this.. just found out about the Live Transfer option..and that i can disable it. In case there is other information that may be helpful.. i'll appreciate. thanks.

@amit210 - I'm glad you were able to find those details about the Live Transfer system. If you need anything else, just ask!

@cPRex The question was, if the issues around the Transfer Tool are fixed. Is that the case?
Thanks @andrew.n and @kodeslogic that's correct, it is an issue with the transfer tool and is being fixed currently.

The issue was confirmed three months ago. What is the current status?

If we're talking about CPANEL-33877, that is fixed in version 92, which can be seen in the changelog here:

I had a similar issue after doing the Express Transfer and manual rolling back. The email client and webmail logins were failing with the following error: Dec 4 23:22:06 hostname dovecot: imap-login: Aborted login (proxy dest auth failed): user=, method=PLAIN, rip=1.2.3.4, lip=192.168.156.125, TLS, session=
    The doveadm output was like below: # doveadm user cpanel_user home /home/cpanel_user host remote.hostname.com userdb_ssl any-cert userdb_host remote.hostname.com ssl any-cert nopassword y userdb_proxy_maybe y userdb_nopassword y proxy_maybe y
The command "whmapi1 unset_manual_mx_redirects domain=main-doamin.com" didn't remove the entries from /etc/manualmx. So, I had to manually remove the domain entries from the it and restart the dovecot. The entire steps are:
    • Removed domain entries from /etc/manualmx
    • whmapi1 unset_manual_mx_redirects domain=main-domain.com
    • systemctl restart dovecot
    • doveadm user cpanel_user

Dear all, I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to share my experiance.

I have a server which is still on centos 7 and cpanel version 110.

I used cpanel "Transfer Tool" on a new server to copy only a testing version of about 20 websites (knowing that I usually use pkgacct cpanel script). I thought that the tool will just suspend the account at the source server, so after each transfer, I was directly unsuspending the account. I was surprised that this tool had applied changes to DNS and mail settings, which caused lot of problems! And till now I'm still trying to fix those problems...

I think any user who wants to transfer an account to a new server, needs to test a copy of the website first there. You thinking you are making things easy, but in reality you are causing problems for a big number of users.

Please stop letting the "Transfer Tool" make changes, or at least give clear cautions that those changes will occur!

Yasser Fahes - when you run Transfer Tool on the server, you would have needed to click "I understand" on a large warning telling you that Live Transfer was enabled:

    https://docs.cpanel.net/whm/transfers/transfer-tool/#live-transfer

The Live Transfer option is what makes those redirections and DNS changes happen.  Here is a screenshot of the Transfer Tool page showing this message before you can choose the accounts you want to transfer:
