Root cannot accept local mail deliveries- Not getting email notifications
I am not getting email notifications on my new server. I checked the mail queue and there is a message that says
"root cannot accept local mail deliveries". I tried unfreezing it and sending but it remains. I have verified my email address is set up in the contact manager. Originally Forward mail for "root" was blank and have changed it. I also checked /etc/localdomains
What else can I check to get emails and notifications for backups?
When i force deliver it, part of the message says this:
SMTP>> writing message and terminating "."
SMTP<< 552 5.2.0 G51akYnostNEy :DED: Access to this mail system has been blocked for xxx.xx.xxx.xxx due to spam activity. Spam was seen coming from this IP, and possibly other scripts running on it. For help resolving the issue, see Gen 3 VPS & Dedicated Servers | Help Center. Once the compromise has been cleaned, please contact customer support to remove the block.

@keat63's point is valid, this at this point isn't being blocked for root not accepting deliveries the issue is you're being flagged as spam. 0 -

Yes I have a VPS with Godaddy. But how does mail from my server to me get blocked?0 -
I'd have to suggest that your server has been sending spam either knowingly, or unkowingly maybe via hacked account. GoDaddy have some rather strict rules and they will be limiting your ability to send. GoDaddy may be able to assist and give you some pointers as to what's triggerd this. I'd reach out to them in the first instance, or maybe start scanning your mail logs to see if anything jumps out as being odd. 0 -
Any spam mail originating from your server is going to end up getting you blocked. Also you want to ensure you're following the best practices for mail How to Keep Your Email Out of the Spam Folder | cPanel & WHM Documentation 0 -
I was able to get it solved. Everytime I tried to unfreeze and deliver the message it stayed in the queue. I conacted GoDaddy and my IP was on the block list. This was a new server and don't use thier mail server. They said the IP addresses get reused. 0
