remote mail server with cpanel for imap pop and smtp
Hello,
I have a dedicated server with cpanel installed i have configured cloudflare on that server. So i want to prevent the leakage of server ip address through email headers so i purchased another vps and setup cpanel on that vps to use as the mail server for my example.com domain. so the content of the example.com will be on my dedicated server and the webmail pop imap smtp must be on the vps. I searched on the internet for few days for a guide but i had no luck. Any help on this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello there, This would require a custom configuration, which is likely why you haven't found much. I would also like to point out that even if emails are handled by a remote system the original IP will still show up in the headers. This may be in the header as X-Originating-IP or X-Forwarded-For, but if there was an easy way around this there would be even more issues with blocking and tracking spam than there are already. 0 -
What if i use a third party mail service without my vps 0 -
That would likely accomplish what you want, as all the mail transactions would get handled by the remote system. 0 -

Would i be able to accomplish it myself with my vps if i continue and complete the courses at cpanel university :)0 -
While cPanel University is great, this isn't something that is a supported configuration through any cPanel tools. I'd still recommend working through that if you're interested in learning more, but it wouldn't go into details about unsupported configurations. 0
