Centos8 with updates until 2029?

Hello. If I install cpanel on Centos8 when it's released as stable (should happen soon?), will there be an easy way to keep it updated until 2029 without having to reinstall the whole server? Can someone clarify the quoted part below? Ref:

    Don't install CentOS 8 as it will not be supported after 2022. Get CentOS 7 for now which has a support till 2024.

    It sounds paradoxical, but it is better to install 7 version. It is more stable and will last longer.

    I went with Centos7... But I must say installing a brand new server right now is not the best of times. 2024 is not far away and a brand new server will still have years to go by then... So I will probably be forced to switch server again then despite it's working just fine.

    5 years is 5 years..that's a lot of time for servers. If you rent a server then 5 years later I'm pretty sure you can get better deals for the same or even lower price.

    Rental prices are only going up. So it is unlikely that in five years the price will be lower.

    that's not true. You can't get the same amount of money for a gadget after 5 years....techs are developing rapidly. You will get more features, more power for less after 5 years.

    To piggy back on the @vacancy post, the important section of that is this: "If you are running CentOS 8 - we will release an OS very similar to CentOS 8 based on RHEL 8 stable.     Short term I'd have to agree with @rene123 and I'd go with CentOS V7. cPanel on V8 is very new. CloudLinux extended support and CentOS V8 is very new. While I hate having to do sever migrations, I'd opt for stable/know/an extra migration over new and untested (i.e. very few implementations).

    I would agree totally with everyone here CentOS v7 for now is the way to go. even if CentOS - ReHat decides to cut us short of 2024 EOL - 7 is stable and secure. Then at that time, we can migrate to the CentOS 8 from cloudlinux or abort and go with another operating system.. But I think that will give cPanel and Cloudlinux enough time to get things working properly and stable with cPanel - CentOS 8 - Cloudlinux version of CentOS almalinux.com just my 2 cents for what's its worth Spiro G
