Does a forwarder require a matching email account, or can you have a standalone forwarder?
Hi Folks,
If I have no email accounts for a cPanel account, can I create a forwarder to forward say info@domain.com > my personal email account without having a separate email account for info@domain.com in cPanel?
ie. Does a forwarder require a matching email account, or can you have a standalone forwarder?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve, You should have an email account created for the forwarder to forward the email to. 0 -
I already have the email account to forward to. My web host is telling me I need the email account to match the email forwarder? (i.e. I can't have an email forwarder without an identical email account to match it - I don't think this is correct) 0 -
To further clarify, if you are just setting up a forwarder to an address *not* hosted on the cPanel server, you don't also need an email address to exist as well. Having only the forwarder is perfectly fine. 0
