Better Performance with cpanel vs plesk

Hey there! I wouldn't say the control panel does a whole lot to determine the speed of the site. If that were the case, it would be very well-documented which control panel was the fastest, and we'd all flock to that one. I think the design of the site and optimization of the code and databases is much more important, as well as the PHP handler and server settings. If you have root access to both the Plesk and the new cPanel system the Transfer Tool (Transfer Tool | cPanel & WHM Documentation) works to connect to a Plesk system and move your data. You can also submit a ticket to our team and we can help perform that transfer for you, ensuring all the settings on the server match as closely as possible.

One other issue: I've done these in the past without trouble. trying to transfer accounts from a Plesk Obsidian server to WHM. Using Transfer tool, it logs into the Plesk server and lists the accounts. But when I try to transfer any of those accounts, I get something like this: Transfer from "server.rockoids.net" Summary TRANSFER: 0 completed, 0 had warnings, and 1 failed. RESTORE: 0 completed, 0 had warnings, and 1 failed. The account exists. The name is correct, and it is listed as among the accounts available to copy. ?????? Obviously the Plesk host is not going to be helpful in making these migrations work.

@Gene Steinberg - there are definitely more tests we can do on the Plesk server on our end if you can get a ticket submitted to our team, as we do offer full support for transferring from a Plesk system. Can you submit a ticket to our support team so we can check that?

After some troubleshooting, we found there were some disk space issues and some problems with the CGI directories on the Plesk machine that were keeping them from being packaged properly.

Well the main directory has more than enough space.

It would be best to update any additional details in the ticket so we can continue our investigation there.

Ticket updated with access info for Plesk server. Note that the main director is only about 31% filled, so there ought to be a way to facilitate the archives even if the other directories don't have enough room (something I have no control over). Peace, Gene
