It's hard to say without a closer look. How do you mean it stops working? Are you able to ping it? SSH works? Do you have KVM access? that way you can have a look at the console to see what is happening exactly. 0 -
Hey there! This sounds like an issue with the operating system itself as the cPanel software would not cause the entire system to be unresponsive. If the whole machine is needing to rebooted, there are deeper issues with the sever than cPanel. I'd recommend checking the /var/log/messages file on the system to see if there are any clues there, such as errors with the disk or problems with the operating system. If you have remote terminal access it would be good to see if there is anything on the screen at the time the server is unresponsive as that could be a clue. If you don't see any details in those places it would be best to speak with your host to have them investigate and test the server's hardware for issues. 0 -
Also ensure its not too many connections to the server which makes it unrnesponsibe as it cannot handle it. In that case ensure you have some software firewall installed like CSF etc. Once installed in /var/log/messages it should indicate what is hitting the server to much. Ensure to take it out of testing mode once you see hits from a particular IP too fast. Also add Regex expressions for wp-login and xmlrpc attacks as per Configserver forums to protect against that too. To me first thing and in todays times in most cases server is not properly protected. But do look at /var/log/messages for any failures too of hardware. 0
