Best way to backup WHM VPS server
Good day to all of you, hope your keeping safe.
I use OVH as my hosting provider and I use to have auto backups enabled. When I get a new server these days, I am having a lot of issues with this feature as it crashes my server when the backup gets done. I believe its caused by the QEMU agent and when I try to enable it, it says Active: inactive (dead). Of course these guys dont provide support for software and also what support they provide is now a tier basis whcih means I even have to pay for support now.
When I use to create a new server, there wa never any issues with this. Now everytime there is an issue if I enable auto backup. I get thr server working perfectly and when it does its daily backup, it hangs.
I am looking at another way I can backup my servers instead of using OVH daily backup featured which also cost a lot. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Is there a safe way to backup via local to drive using FTP or SFTP which is safer? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am goign crazy dealing with the lack of support from my provider.

Thanks for your reply, Is there an easy way to access /backups? This is a server wide backup doen right? What FTP or SFTP storage do you recommend as this might be the best way even if I ahev to manually start the process 1 oe 2 times per week, Right now the servers are using aupot backup with OVh ( some ) and they all have the whm backups enabled with keepingh three days. 0 -
sorry keyboard sticking errors :) Is it possible to connect to server folder where global backups are being stored and that way I can use a FTP solution to download them to an backup device or cloud service 0 -
You can restore backups from WHM under Restore backup option if you store them locally (on your drive). If you use FTP you can also restore full accounts without the need of transferring them locally. Google for cloud storage which provides FTP access :) I don't have any personal experience with any of the providers unfortunately. 0 -
OVH is using another method than cPanel built in backups system so give that a try... 0 -
Use Cpanel built in Backup Feature of Cpanel. Its more user friendly for backups and restore. 0 -
