Hi BassTeQ, When you say you don't want to create an account, I assume you mean cPanel account? Perhaps add something.com as an addon domain and set up redirection to something.com.au

Yes thats right, I don't want to setup a cPanel account for the .com Thanks for the suggestion re the addon domain, I've attempted that and setting this error. This domain points to an IP address that does not use the DNS servers associated with this server. Transfer the domain to this server"s nameservers at the domain"s registrar or update your system to recognize the current DNS servers. To do this, use WHM"s Configure Remote Service IPs interface. Cheers

You'll always get that message if the addon domain is remote. You can use the interface it mentions to adjust this, or you can temporarily enable the WHM >> Tweak Settings >> Allow Remote Domains option while you create the account.

Thanks, then disable that setting after the account has been created? So on the remote .com DNS, once the A record is pointing to my servers IP it should load the site for the .com.au

Yup, then just disable it once you're done. Once you've created the site on your machine, you'll just need to make sure the A record points there. Where the DNS is hosted doesn't matter as longas the A record points users to the right location.
