Change a hostname

hi there, I am new to cPanel hosting when i installed a cPanel the default host name was created as x-x-x-x.cprapid.com and now i have changed hostname but now i cant ping to this new host name but still able to ping to x-x-x-x.cprapid.com. What went wrong ? can some one provide a guide on how to properly change the host name Thank you

  Hey there! It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong with the hostname change as long as that shows up properly in WHM, but you would need to have the DNS for the hostname pointed to the server before that will start working. Is the DNS also in place for that domain?

  hi there, yes i have a purchase a domain name from xyz and there i have update the ns1 and ns2 to point my vps ns1 and ns2 and i have also update the A record for my domain hosting in another provider to point my vps server ip

  Did you also make sure to get those custom nameservers registered? You can find details on that here:
