    Hey there! We don't allow .htaccess files in the /var/www/vhosts directory as that gets used for cPanel functions, like AutoSSL. While you can serve some basic content from this directory, we don't encourage that either as all content should come from domain vhosts.

    Sure - you may find the details in this thread helpful for that, and you might need to test a few combinations of things to get it working how you are expecting, but with the right settings that should be doable:
