How to set up DOT email forwards
Hey all,
Real simple question. How can I setup a forwarder using either "." or "+" (doesn't matter to us). Basically I want to setup so that I just create . or + email addys on the fly and they get where they should (mainly to prevent spam/selling of emails) - but I don;t want to have to create individual forwarders for all of these.
For example, I have the following email account, bob@mydomain.com.
I want to forward all mail sent to work.magazine1@mydomain.com or work.newsletter@mydomain.com to be forwarded to bob@mydomain.com
All mail sent to home.newsletter@mydomain.com, home.recipes@mydomain.com to be forward to myemail@gmail.com
I looked through the cPanel docs but couldn't find anything. My hosting suggested to try adding a forwarder like bob.*@mydomain.com, but this didn't work, the email was just delivered to the CatchAll address.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Cheers, MadDogDean

Hey there! I guess I'm not completely sure what you're trying to do. Are you wanting to setup a wildcard email forwarder for work.*.domain.com so those all go to bob and then home.*.domain.com so those all go to myemail? If so, this is an older thread, but it's still relevant to what you're trying to set up: 0 -
Hey cPRex, thanks for that. There was another link in the link you sent that exactly answered what I was trying to do. I guess I was focused on figuring out how to do it using Forwarders instead of Filters (couldn't see the forest with all those trees in the way!!) Cheers 0 -
I'm glad that helped! 0
