DNSOnly usage questions
We are currently on WHM/CPanel only installation, and we would like to migrate the accounts from one server to another.
Initially, we got the idea of installing DNSOnly to detach the DNS management from WHM's server to another server, giving us the ability to migrate the zones more easily as the nameserver isn't tied anymore to WHM. But after installing DNSOnly, it seems that it can only be used as a secondary DNS as I don't see how I can change a customer's IP on DNSonly. Is it the case, being a secondary DNS sync'd to a primary (which is WHM), even though is can be used as the primary DNS for domain's NS field?
Sorry if the question isn't clear, english not primary language.

Hey there! That is correct - it is not designed so you can edit the DNS data on the DNSOnly system, as it should be receiving those records from the attached WHM server(s). 0 -
Thank you for your answer @cPRex. Can you confirm it's a valid use case to change managed domain name primary DNS server to be the DNSOnly's, or is it only for secondary DNS? If it's valid, is there an impact regarding propagation time? 0 -
They can be the primary nameservers for sure - that's how a majority of users have those configured. The only propagation time would be at the registrar level if you're updating the IP addresses of the nameservers themselves, so that should not take too long at all to update. 0
