Hi @TwistAndShout, You can safely increase memory_limit, if you think it's necessary. I've never migrated a website using UpdraftPlus. Perhaps try taking a .tar.gz backup and restoring that instead, if possible?

    try taking a .tar.gz backup

Thanks for your feed back. This is indeed the way I do with UpDraftPlus, however the files arrive uncomplete. I have error messages saying that the weight of the files is not what it should be. My deduction is that the memory allocated is not enough. The shop is now turning at 128M on the source VPS, I was thinking using 600M on the destination VPS to make sure the savings are well done.

Hi, Unfortunately i'm not familiar with UpdraftPlus so I can't help you troubleshoot this issue. I'd recommend generating a .tar.gz backup file and restoring it, from cPanel instead. It can take time for the backup file to be generated and transferred, depending on the speed from the source server to the destination server.

Your user profile does indicate you have root access to the system. If there a reason you decided to try that tool instead of Transfer Tool or manually moving a cPanel backup file?

As I read, you are trying to migrate products from a website made with wordpress to another website with wordpress, from what I see you are using a plugin, as surely it is a shared hosting to which you are migrating, it is possible that it does not have the necessary resources or the correct configuration for what you need. Help us by first indicating if you have root access or only to your cPanel account. My recommendation would be that if you don't have root access, you'd better make a full backup using the Akeeba Backup for WordPress plugin or else make a full backup of the cPanel account and the migrate to the new server in this way you will avoid breaking your head and everything will be exported without problems. Another way is to perform a manual migration of wordpress for this, only export all the files inside the public_html and export the installation database and you only restore the files in your new installation postscript: your error is not a lack of memory but a runtime configuration perhaps from php, mysql or depending on the number of simultaneous processes or IO among several other factors, we need more details to help you.

I don't have SSH access on the source.

Thanks for this I guess i will have to manually migrate then. I have set memomy limit tp 600M nonetheless.

I would agree manually migrating would be the best if you don't have SSH access to the source. If both machines are running cPanel though, you could use the cPanel >> Backup Wizard (if that is enabled by your host) to create a backup that you can move to another system.
