Gzip/Brotli compression in nginx

I was testing my sites with the new nginx reverse proxy and I see that Gzip/Brotli compression is not enabled anymore. How can this be enabled for nginx?

  Looks like there are no config options for the nginx implementation. Are there any data on performance improvement when using it as reverse proxy in the cpanel iteration? Also, I see no http2 support, which is highly surprising. I am seriously considering going back to Apache.

  I don't have any specific performance metrics on my end. Since each user's environment is unique it would be a good idea to do some testing of your own to see if you like the results.

  Yes, I agree, but there could be some baseline measurements on popular applications/set-ups so that people can have a clue whether it would be a good idea to test on the first place.
