PIGZ process
We have started seeing this email alert over the last few days:
The process "/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/pigz -f /backup/weekly/2021-05-01/system/files/_etc_apache2_conf_httpd.conf" stalled while it ran for user "root"
The process has run for "1 day, 12 hours, and 7.73 seconds".
At the time that the system generated this notification, the process had a PID of "7534", and it consumed 0.03% of the system"s memory and 0% of the system"s CPU time.
- As a result backups do not look to be completing.
In addition to this message over the last few days CSF has begun emailing:
Resource: Process Time
Exceeded: 41425 > 1800 (seconds)
Executable: /usr/local/cpanel/libexec/cpanellogd
Command Line: cpanellogd - http logs for xxxx
PID: 22911 (Parent PID:14124)
Killed: No
I checked the backup logs and see this:
System load is currently 1.15; waiting for it to go down below 0.88 to continue
- The Tweak Settings are normal and have not been changed.
Everything has been fine up until 5-7 days ago.
Running: CENTOS 7.9 kvm [web1] v94.0.5
There is only a single website running on the server.

From the information you shared, it seems the cpbackup process is on hold due to the current server load above 0.88 the backup process should continue once the server load is below 0.88 The backup process may take time if the account size is large. server load monitoring (cpu watch) while execution of the cPanel backup process is the default behaviour. 0 -
The account size has not changed and up until 5 or 6 days ago it was backing up without a problem The backup would complete in under 10 minutes. Something is now keeping the load average above 1.00 continuously. Is it okay to kill the following processes? cpanellogd - waiting for child to process logs for xxxxxxxxx cpanellogd - http logs for xxxxxxxxxx 0 -
How many CPU cores do you have on the machine? If you have a multi-core system, a load of 1 is nothing to be concerned with. 0
