Option for testing backups
Hi.
A backup is not only a copies that makes copies, but a procedure in which the copies are regularly verified.
A problem that I find is that wanting to perform a backup compound procedure, I can not realize this, in any of the servers of the company, since all the servers are in a DNS cluster, and therefore I can not use any server for Restore Test, an account.
At first I thought you could exist an exclude to not restore the DNS area but I have not seen something like this in the

Hey there! You could always test a backup restore by copying the backup file to a server that is not in the DNS cluster and restoring it there. This would avoid any potential DNS conflicts in the cluster. 0 -
Hi I think that's imagination. That is why I ask if there is an alternative. The question is whether there is something that does not know to subtract without restoring the area. You could manually verify the zipped data. Running a command like this would let you ensure the backup is valid: tar -tzf /path/to/cpmove-username.tar.gz
but the only real test is to try a full restore.0
