2021 update on what happens when cPanel Licence expires
Please advise what happens exactly when my cPanel licence expires. My host currently does not allow me to downgrade my cPanel licence hence I have to let it expire and may have to endure 1-3 days of unlicenced cPanel for the various systems to register.
In particular:
1) Will e-mails still work? (Yes?)
2) Will user cron jobs run? (Yes?)
3) Will cPanel auto update? (No?)
4) Can I login to cPanel? (No?)
5) Anything else that will break

Hey there! We try and avoid publishing a complete list of what happens in this scenario as we don't want to encourage users to let their license lapse so they can have a bare minimum experience. In general, the cPanel and WHM interfaces will not function, and email access will not work either as we shut off the authentication system for email users. Crons should still run as those aren't handled by cPanel tools. 0 -
Well, mailboxes don't work, login to cPanel doesn't, so access to your database as well. Only HTTP/FTP works, so your web sites do show but you cannot administer anything. I've been waiting for 5 days now to have things back to normal after my hosting company issues a pay button for the month that was 1.83 less than it was supposed to be because of cPanel license price changes. And of course it's MY fault. And no one answers how long this is going to take. Great service y'all! 0
