CPANEL-38658 - Error creating subdomain with linked server
Hello!
We've a server with linked node for mail, with DNS cluster between them. When trying to create a subdomain in any account, we receive always the same error:
Please note that error is related to linked server, I've tried disabling DNS cluster or deleting manually zone from linked server, with no positive results. Only way to achieve is dedistributing mail and then creating subdomain. Could this be a cPanel bug? Regards,
There was a problem creating the sub-domain:
(XID ns6wn5) The "create_subdomain" request to "mailserver.domain.tld" as "root" failed because of an error: API failure: (XID r67jpa) (XID 6qgrg3) Ya existe una entrada de DNS para el dominio "staging.clientdomain.tld". at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Admin/Modules/Cpanel/subdomain.pm line 176.Please note that error is related to linked server, I've tried disabling DNS cluster or deleting manually zone from linked server, with no positive results. Only way to achieve is dedistributing mail and then creating subdomain. Could this be a cPanel bug? Regards,

Hey there! That isn't an issue I'm familiar with, but it could certainly be a problem with the linked node interacting with the DNS cluster. Could you submit a ticket to our team so we could check this out directly on one of the affected machines? 0 -
Ticket #94364684 has been created. Thanks. 0 -
Thanks so much - I'm following along with that on my end as well now, and I'll be sure to keep this thread updated. 0 -
5 months and this is still an issue. I regret every day I decided to use linked node for mail purposes. I think this is not ready for production and licensing has doubled for us. 0 -
Hello @cPRex our spokesperson to management< I love CPANEl and the security / peace of mind it gives for the management and the updating of our servers, and of course we would like to be able to use the mail-node function (like the DNS-clusters), but a message for the marketing team : *doubling* the license price if we use mail-node (certainly on "bare metal") is too much I think. DNS-cluster node is thankfully used. Maybe just an idea for the marketing / pricing people ? ... (no hard feelings ;)) 0 -
@did-vmonroig - I did speak with the team about this issue and while they do plan to fix it, it just hasn't happened yet. If I hear anything on my end I'll be sure to update this post. 0 -
Two more months and still and issue. :( No news? 0 -
