Hey there! Each page does have a unique link, so the user could access the area once and then bookmark it to use in the future. They would still get prompted for their cPanel username and password when going to that link.

Thanks @cPRex for responding, this is ok to login with their login info for the cPanel. I would like to put these links into my app. So I have the starting point, for example, But I can't figure out what would be the rest of the URL, if for example, I want to point them to the "MySQL Database Wizard" Is this possible?

Sure - in cPanel for me, the MySQL Database Wizard is this URL:

And what is the cpsess, is this dynamically generated for each session or how to get this value?

Correct - that is generated for each session when the user logs in. If you have a session number bookmarked or included in a link, you'll just a get a new one the next time you try and log in and it will change.

I'm having similar trouble in that, since enabling 2FA, my bookmark now redirects to the cPanel to the frontend index.html. I have my bookmark set as

@Cambreaker - I'm not sure how 2FA would impact a bookmark. Once you're logged in and have the session number, I'd expect that to work well. Does doing that now take you to a new login page?

When I click the bookmark, I get the standard login page with " The security token in your request is invalid. " and a cPanel Username and Password field (autofilled by my password manager). The URL here is still that of the bookmark. I click submit, get "Login Successful, redirecting" and then arrive at "Enter the security code for "[username]"" (again autofilled with my 2FA code). At this point, the URL is still identical to that set as the bookmark. I click "Continue" and am then immediately redirected to

Thanks for the additional details. So the issue isn't with the login itself, but the fact that after you do login you don't get taken to the specific bookmarked page, correct?

I reached out to the user interface team on this one, and I'll post back as soon as I hear something!

I just wanted to post to let you know I haven't forgotten about this, but I just haven't heard back from the team yet.

@Cambreaker - I'm not getting much on my end, so would it be possible for you to create a ticket with our team explaining this behavior so we can do some more research?

I have opened a ticket, and I will post any relevant findings here so others can resolve similar issues! Thanks for not letting this slip through the cracks @cPRex! May you dine on many tasty cPTriceratops.

So I got a reply on this, and if I understand correctly, the 2FA login can't redirect to a specific app within cPanel when a new session is opened, and suggested I use Host Access Control. That doesn't seem like the best option, as I'd have to know the IP of anyplace to which I'm traveling ahead of time, but I'm going to continue to seek another option that is more secure than simple password, but allows the convenience of a bookmark redirecting to the correct app.

Yep, it's a 2fa issue which the developers do know about (their case reference number CPANEL-41148 - and example via

Oof! I hope that can get straightened out soon, then. Will have to talk to my team and see whether we want to forestall 2FA until the redirection issue is fixed.
