CentOS 7.9 to AlmaLinux 8 (or RHEL derivatives) in-place upgrade via Elevate?

Has anyone tried this upgrade path? Is it valid for CPanel? I can see Elevate mentions support from 7 ? 8.

  Hey hey! I know we still aren't recommending any OS upgrade tools on our end, as we still recommend a new machine and migration.

  I see. I can read that Elevate is still under development, so I guess by 2024 when CentOS 7 reaches EOL recommendations may change based on new data. Setting up a new machine and migrating can be quite a hassle...

  For sure - while AlmaLinux itself is stable, we haven't tested these particular tools, and a lot can change by 2024.
