support.cpanel.net not retaining destination on login

I didn't realise that this requires an account :( but +1 for this, good idea! 0 -
The "support." pages have required a login for quite a while. 0 -

They have, and as far as I know this has been an issue since they started requiring it. -Michael0 -
I will add this to my pile of things to check out and report back! 0 -

I just opened the original link in an incognito window and it did not require me to log in. I did not test with any other links, but someone may have quietly fixed the issue and not said anything. -Michael0 -
It's important to note there are two types of support articles - general articles, and actual issues. The issues require a login because you have the ability to click the orange "Follow" button to receive notifications when updates are made to the page as the issue gets worked on and eventually resolved. If you're not longer seeing an issue, that works too! 0 -

The original link I quoted has a Follow button, used to require a login, but no longer does. Based on your rational it's possible they incorrectly "fixed" the issue, ie. removed the login requirement rather than fixing where you go after clicking on a link and then logging in. Should the link in my original post require a login, since it has a Follow button? -Michael0 -
Originally, yes, but since the MySQL issue has been solved it no longer does as there will not be further updates to that page. 0 -

Ok, so not something I can help test then, unless a new issue arises. :) -Michael0 -
Oh, I see what you're saying - the issue HAS to require a login for the redirection error to happen. I'll check on this later on and post an update since that will require another team to look into some things on the backend with me. 0 -

Here's a way you can see a parallel effect of what I mean, if it helps: 1) Log out of support.cpanel.net 2) Click the link in my original post, once there click the Follow button. You will be brought to the login page. 3) When you log in, instead of going back to the article you were trying to follow, a) you are brought to the homepage, and b) you are not following that article. Similar to what I reported: if the whole page requires a login just to view it and you directed to log in attempting to view that page then you should be brought back to that page after logging in, and not to the homepage. -Michael0 -
Thanks for the additional details. I'm going to have my people look into this and I'll report back once I have more information. It will likely be later this week, I'm hoping for tomorrow, but I'll let you know. 0 -
Update - I've let our team know and they are looking into this issue now. 0 -
Update - we've confirmed the behavior and our team is working both with Zendesk and development to get this resolved. I don't have a normal public link you guys can follow since this is internal development, but it's a known issue and is being worked on at this point. 0 -
Update - our team has released a workaround on the Zendesk side of things so the single-sign-on tool tracks what page you should land on after you log in. 0
