Backup Wizard Home Directory restoration "failed to fetch"
Hi
I am a Godaddy server user with Cpanel management. Recently I wanted to switch my server from Asia to North America, I backup my data with Cpanel Backup Wizard in partial backup mode in 3 parts(Home Directory, MySQL Database and Email configuration), reset account and switched to North America server.
While I restored the Home Directory backup file, I encountered "failed to fetch" error msg and can not finish the restoration process. My home directory backup file is around 17GB, I am not sure if it's the problem. MySQL databases and email configurations all can be restored with Backup Wizard without problems.
Please let me know what I can do now to restore Home Directory backup file successfully?
Server information is as attachment.

Hey there! Do you have root access to the server, or just cPanel access? If you only have cPanel access, you'd need to reach out to GoDaddy directly to see if they can identify the root cause of the issue. If you have root access to the server, I'd recommend checking the cPanel logs at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log to see if there are more details available there that could point you in the right direction. 0 -
Hi Thanks for the advices. I will forwarded this to Godaddy for further information and update the thread. thanks. 0 -
Hi In cpanel/logs folder, there is no error_log file. There are only 2 folders ("restore-email-forwarder" and "restoredb") that I restored email configuration and MySQL databases. I tried to upload the home directory backup file to the server by Filezilla and extract it directly, It always show the error msg as below when I imported the Wordpress websites (main and addon domains) through wordpress application installation. [COLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)]"! PHP for the selected domain has failed. Installatron is unable to install to a domain where PHP is not working. Your hosting provider can help you resolve this error. Error code: 1; HTTP code: 500" Is there any way that I can manually execute the home directory restoration on the server with the backup data uploaded through Filezilla? The most import things to me Is that I can successfully get Wordpress websites of main and addon domains back online. 0 -

This is inside the user level. The root access of the server would have more details inside the error_log file.I tried to upload the home directory backup file to the server by Filezilla and extract it directly, It always show the error msg as below when I imported the Wordpress websites (main and addon domains) through wordpress application installation.
It sounds like there is something else happening with the site besides the import. Is there any way that I can manually execute the home directory restoration on the server with the backup data uploaded through Filezilla? Yes. If you have all of the files locally you can extract them on your local workstation and then upload those files directly with your FTP client. We do recommend that people not use Filezilla due to some security issues they've experienced. All files for the website are typically located in /home/username/public_html if the WordPress installation is the entire site. The main issue you may have is the database connectivity. Moving the home directory files will not also move the database on the account as those are stored in a different area. Does the backup that you have also contain the database files?0
