When the time is right to get a new server?
Hi ,
i have a nice Centos7/Cloudlinux with cPanel and i host here 100 accounts.I have all service here web/mysql/exim.
I run with load always from 2,5 to 3,5 and i get some "High 5 minute load average alert" in the night during backup process.
I want to know if is the time to add new server. I want to have a good service.
No customers is reporting me problems. What do you think? and also i read about centos8 is EOL.
If i start new server what is the best OS choice with cpanel?
thanks

Load from 2,5 to 3,5 doesn't tell much without knowing your server's specifications, especially CPU. Look in WHM -> Server Status -> Server Information 0 -
^^^It could be the load average notification just needs to be reconfigured to properly alert you when there's an issue. If you could post the CPU specs and number of cores that would be helpful. 0 -

If you are using CSF what is the value of PT_LOAD_LEVEL ? 0 -
6 0 -
You can set that to 8, and see if you still get those overload messages. 0 -
ok thanks do you think i am ok for now? 0 -
I think it's fine with how things are currently. 0 -

Please run lscpu and check total cores. If you have 8 cores then avg load 4 is fine its mean your system used 50% CPU. I also recommend you to install MobaExterm and enable Monitoring and you can see real time CPU, 50% To 60% its fine if websites not working slow., above 60% avg load its not fine for me.0
