Hey there! The best way to move everything is to perform a full data migration with the Transfer Tool, connecting from the Destination machine to the Source machine. I don't see where in that article it says to keep the OS the same between systems, as that would defeat the majority of reasons for transferring a server.

Hi! I just tried this migration and I get all sort of permission errors. I'm quite a linux noob and have a hard time fixing it. I tried to give apache access to the public html folders but no succes. Any advice?

@web120 - can you get us some more details? You used the Transfer Tool in WHM to move all the content to another machine, correct? If so, what errors are you seeing in the Apache log on the system? This log would be located at /etc/apache2/logs/error_log
