Transfer email account

Guys, I need help. How to transfer emails from one shared hosting to another (same domain, just changing host)? I've FTP downloaded mail/domain/user and tried to override at new host after creating the same email account, but got no emails. Also tried to export .mbox file from Horde on old host but server time-out screwed me... I have files locally on both Outlook and Thunderbird. How can I do this?

  I did some testing, I copied the mail directory from one server to another, that wasn't enough, but when I copied the etc directory also all the mailboxes are there.

  It makes perfect sense to copy etc directory, but I'm looking for confirmation is there anything else.. Thanks mate

  Creating the user, copying the files, AND copying the /home/user/etc should be all that is needed.
