CPANEL-40619 - Where is "Manage Redirection" in the new Domains interface?
In cPanel > Domains > Subdomains there is the "Manage Redirection" link where you can *modify* a redirect. Where in the new Domains interface is this feature?!
I the old Subdomains panel it encourages us to use the new CPanel > Domains > Domains interface, but clicking the Manage button in there does *not* let you manage (edit) at all. You get, under "Additional Resources", a "Modify The Redirect" link, which takes you to the cPanel > Domains > Redirects panel where you cannot *modify* anything, only remove/recreate. What gives...?

Hey there! I'm not finding a way to modify an existing one without removing it. Does that come up enough where it needs to be a separate feature? 0 -

Well there's the existing way in the now deprecated Subdomains interface.... right? So why take it away? Also, I like the idea of rolling the Subdomains, Aliases, and Add-on Domains interfaces into the one Domains interface, but I find it strange that the Redirects interface would be left out of that (as well as removing the redirect edit capability). You raise a fair question about how often you modify a redirect, but I have to once in a while, such as: when it includes a port number and the port number changes, or when it is placed as service subdomain and the clients want the sub altered, or when a 302 needs to become a 301, or when the service or destination you are pointing to changes. Not the end of the world, but I always "marveled" that it was in Subdomains and not Redirects, and no I'm in "wonderment" (lol) that it's being removed. I can't see how it causes a problem, so why make one step procedure a two step? My two cents... -Pete0 -
Makes sense to me - I'll poke the developers and see what the plan is. 0 -
I created case CPANEL-40619 for our developers to look into that missing behavior in the newer cPanel >> Domains page. I'll post here again if I get an update on that! 0
