Move busy account to secondary hdd

Hi, I've got a really busy site - database intensive, & frequent file uploads, mostly PHP & MariaDB. Should I take the site offline while I move it to a secondary hdd? Or can I leave it online so that users can still access it, upload files, etc? The account is currently over 500GB & the move would take around 10 hours (based off of calculations of how long other accounts took to move, which are much smaller). Thanks for any assistance!

  Hey there! If the site is as busy as you say, you may find that it moves faster when it is taken offline. That way users aren't generating traffic and cached pages, and there will be much less read and write activity while you perform the work. From a cPanel standpoint, there is no reason you *have* to take if offline to perform that function.

  Thanks, I was just looking for confirmation that the move will complete successfully even if new files are created, etc. It did complete successfully without me having to take it offline.
