Moving cPanel License From 3rd Party to cPanel.net
Hi,
I currently have a VPS with OVH. I have reached the maximum number of cPanel accounts, and I want to upgrade to a higher package.
With OVH this needs to be done via their API, however there are some variables I need to enter that I can't figure out. OVH support has been worse than useless, just providing boiler plate replies.
I've decided I want to just get the license direct from cPanel however when I try and purchase I receive a message that the server currently has a license, and I am unable to continue.
How do I proceed?
Do I cancel the OVH license first, and If I do this do I risk being locked out of my server?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, first you will have to cancel the license with OVH and verify the license is showing expire at cPanel & WHM License Verification | cPanel, L.L.C. then you can purchase a new license directly from cPanel. Even with your license state expire you still have SSH access with the root user. Once you purchase the new license update is on your server using the following command from SSH terminal: #/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt0 -
