Broken symlinks in /var/run/systemd/units
Noticed backups were not working so we submitted a cpanel ticket with the following error:
Service error:
Jul 03 14:50:07 systemd[1]: Started cPanel DNS admin service.
Jul 03 14:50:07 systemd-coredump[1348258]: Process 1348251 (dnsadmin - load) of user 0 dumped core.
Jul 03 14:50:07 systemd[1]: dnsadmin.service: Main process exited, code=dumped, status=11/SEGV

Hey there! Thanks for sharing. It might be worth reaching out to your host as well to see if they have a full disaster-recovery style backup in place if the machine doesn't come back online. 0 -
I'm being told by others that the symlinks are fine and cpanel support was incorrect about them being broken. They show up that way on everyother server. Those guys nearly gave me a heart attack so we are just back to square one for figuring out this error: The system failed to connect a UNIX domain socket to "/var/cpanel/dnsadmin/sock" because of an error: Connection refused 0 -
Did you reply to your ticket with that information? If you can let me know your ticket number I'd like to follow up with that. 0 -
I did. ticket #94463935. They apologized and are now saying the fix is to update and restart. 0 -
Thanks for that - I'm following along with that ticket now as well. 0 -
Thanks I think it should be fixed after I update and restart afterhours later. Systemd works in funny ways and I don't blame the people at support for seeing flashing red symlinks and thinking something is wrong because I fell for that aswell. 0 -
Let us know how it goes! 0 -
I see our team was able to run "/scripts/check_cpanel_pkgs" and that repaired many packages on the system, and you're no longer having issues with the server. 0 -
Yup that is correct. Thanks guys. 0 -
You're very welcome - I'm glad we could help! 0
