CPANEL-41138 - Allowing apostrophes in email addresses

I am trying to debug some code having to do with email addresses that have apostrophes in them, but when I go to create a test email in my cpanel I am getting the following error: The username can only contain letters, numbers, periods, hyphens, and underscores. According to RFC 3696, apostrophes are valid as the username portion of an email address:

  Hey there! At this point, no, there's not a way to get those created in cPanel. I reached out to the email team, but being late in the afternoon on a Friday, it might be a bit before I hear back. I'll leave this thread marked as "new" so I can follow up next week.

  Thanks for your patience on this one. We had some discussions this morning and our best guess is that older code was created to help stop MySQL-style code injections from happening on the email address input form. I've opened case CPANEL-41138 with our developers to see if we can get the user interface up to RFC standards, and I'll be sure to post more details as soon as I hear an update from the team.
