disable autodiscover as a website owner

Is there anyway for a website owner (cpanel enduser) to turn off the autodiscover function on their domain? (Site hosts emails used by web sites, but user emails are in O365) eg. top level.htaccess, create directory /autodiscover and put a suitable blocking .htaccess in it. somehow redirect /autodiscover/autodiscover.xml somewhere better. Get the hosting provider to change some (simple) setting.

  Hey there! There isn't a way for an end-user to control this as all those settings are handled by the root user through WHM.
