Hey there! There's no reason you couldn't. We include those as an easy option to enable because they are stable and well-regarded in the industry.

In the WHM Exim Configuration Editor, there are two options to enable SBLs:
    • zen.spamhaus.org
    • bl.spamcop.net
Do you recommend they be enabled or disabled? Thanks!

Definitely use Spamhaus Zen. It has been many many years since I tried bl.spamcop.net. When i did try it, at that time I found it was generating too many legitimate complaints from my customers who were not receiving emails they were supposed to receive. That may have changed. So I can't really give an opinion about SpamCop. I'd also recommend an additional RBL -- b.barracudacentral.org ( BarracudaCentral.org - Technical Insight for Security Pros ). Been using it for a decade with no issues. - NOTE: you need to let Barracuda know the IP addresses of the requesting servers ( BarracudaCentral.org - Technical Insight for Security Pros ) - and that isn't necessarily your cPanel box but your DNS resolvers instead. If you are using public DNS resolvers (like Google) that might not go well Mike

Just found this thread, there are loads of issues in the last two weeks with spamhaus blocking gmail, mailchimp and even Cpanel IPs. Many are blacklisted IPs but the spamhaus checker says no issues so there is a problem with the rbl. We are looking into disabling it but we"ll then get complaints about spam as before these issues we"ve used it for years successfully.

For now the best option is likely disabling it. If these things continue, we may even just drop it from WHM completely as it's no longer useful or trustworthy for many situations.

We"ve disabled. It does filter a lot of spam so we"ll just have to see how much more we get

Activating spamhaus caused issues within the first 60 minutes, not worth it
