confusion after transfer
I should be smart enough to figure this out but for some reason I am not seeing it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated...
I transferred an account from an old VPS to a new one. The client later asked me to move it back. I did so. However now, it appears the email is all going to the right place (old server) but all web traffic is still routing over to the new server even though I have DNS pointed to the old one.
For example, if I go into the new server and suspend the account (in preparation for deleting it) the web traffic shows as suspended even though the DNS says it is pointed to the old (correct) server where the account is not suspended.
What am I missing?

TTL's (time to live), which is the time that DNS will be cached. What is the TTL for the web related entries (bare domain and www) in the DNS zone? 0 -
I figured it out. There was an htaccess redirect coming into play here that I was not aware of. Domain names were close enough that I never saw it change in the address bar. Thank you for the input though. 0 -
I'm glad you were able to track that down! 0
