Quick Restore Question....
The files generated by the backup utility (and in my case copied off to AWS S3) are the "CPMOVE" files referenced in the WHM "Transfer or Restore" Utility?

Hey there! Not exactly, but it would be enough to completely restore the cPanel account, either way. To generate a cpmove file you would use the /scripts/pkgacct tool. 0 -
Got it! So - out of curiosity - what else does CPMOVE include? I am guessing that another route is to copy the backup tp the server where it will be found by the "Restore Backup" utility (where you filter dates and accounts) Sorry for the dumb questions - been a while since I restored a backup! 0 -
The only dumb questions are the ones left unasked. cpmove also includes everything necessary to move the cPanel account to another server, just in a different package type. It specifically makes a file called cpmove-username.tar.gz that the system can look for. You can also move the backup username.tar.gz file over to your server, place it in /home, and then the WHM restore tools will detect it there. 0
