Server migration with multiple home directories
I'm currently running a CentOS 7.8 Standard server with cPanel 106.
This is hosted on a DigitalOcean drop with multiple 500GB storage volumes attached which are used solely for the cPanel accounts (i.e. additional "home" locations).
I intend on migrating to a new AlmaLinux server and was wondering if I needed to go through the usual account transfer tool from old server to new or if there's a way I can just setup the new server, install cPanel and then detach the storage volumes from the old server and re-attach to the new server.
There's close to 1TB of data across all cPanel accounts and I feel this would be much quicker if it's possible and safe to do so.
Thanks

Hey there! I'd try it with one or two accounts first, but the following would likely get you what you want: -run Transfer Tool -uncheck the home directory option from the custom transfer options: That will get all the cPanel account data created in other areas on the machine, such as /var/cpanel/userdata and /etc/, but won't spend all the time moving the user's home directory files. You can then mount the new drives as long as the home directory path matches, and I'd expect that to work well. 0 -
