    Hey there! The kernel is something that can be automatically updated with Yum. Most users let the system handle that update, although a reboot may be necessary after a new kernel is installed before it is active on the machine. As long as you haven't tried to use any custom kernels in the past, I would expect this to be a safe operation to let the server perform.

    Or look at KernelCare/TuxCare and you have have live patching of the kernel without reboots.
