Live Transfer Reports Hostname Not Resolving Locally
I'm trying to transfer accounts between my old server (CentOS 7) and my new server (AlmaLinux 8) that are both running cPanel 106.0.11. I have a DNS cluster between the two of them at the moment. I transferred over the account that has the server's own hostname and manually edited its zone to ensure every IP referenced in it is one assigned to the new server. But, whenever I go into the transfer tool, it still says that the server's hostname isn't resolving locally and thus live transfer is disabled. Is there some place else I need tot do something to prepare for live transfer?

Hey there! If you ping the hostname from that server, do you get the correct IP in response? If not, you may want to check your settings in /etc/resolv.conf. 0 -
Yes, from my laptop and from both servers, ping points to one of the IP addresses in the pool for that server. 0 -
What if you try this, from the Destination server: /scripts/cpdig host.yourhostname.com A
Does that also return the correct IP?0 -
It did, but it returned two IPs. I realized I'd added two different (valid) IPs to the zone, so I removed one and that seemed to resolve things! Thanks! 0 -
I'm glad that helped! 0
