External mail server with cPanel
Hi to all,
I have a hosting for mywebsite and I activated a external mail server for email. The email provider says to manage zone editor in cPanel and deleting this record
After it says to add this record
I created CNAME and MX rexcord, but in cPanel i can't create NS record. Here the provider guide:
miodominio.tld. | IN | MX 0 | mail.dominio.tld. (o diverso) |
mail.dominio.tld. | IN | A | XX.YY.ZZ.PP |
webmail.dominio.tld. | IN | A | XX.YY.ZZ.PP (o un CNAME) |
default._domainkey.dominio.tld. | IN | TXT | "v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...." |
miodominio.tld. | IN | MX 0 | mail.dominio.tld. |
mail.miodominio.tld. | IN | NS | ns1.powermailhost.com. |
mail.miodominio.tld. | IN | NS | ns2.powermailhost.com. |
webmail.miodominio.tld. | IN | CNAME | mail.miodominio.tld. |
default._domainkey.dominio.tld. | IN | NS | ns1.powermailhost.com. |
default._domainkey.dominio.tld. | IN | NS | ns2.powermailhost.com. |

Hey there! Do you only have access to the cPanel account and not root access to the entire server? If so, your host likely doesn't have all the DNS options enabled on your account. You'll want to ask your host to make sure the "Zone Editor (AAAA, CAA, DMARC, SRV, TXT)" option is enabled for your feature list. If they cant' adjust that, they will need to add the record for you. 0 -
Thank you, I read another thread and I was able to add the record via WHM. 0 -
That would work too if you had root access to the server. I'm glad you got that resolved! 0
