No option to add remote calendar in Roundcube Webmail 1.5.2
AnsweredI use the cPanel hosted by herosite.pro for my website. The provider upgraded the cPanel version to 108 as of 2023-02-15. This removed the horde client as advertised. However, I cannot see the calendars or contacts in my Roundcube.
Also, I cannot see any option to add a remote calendar in Roundcube Webmail 1.5.2.
See screenshots below:
As you can see below, there is no option or text box to provide CalDAV URL for "Add calendar" option.
This is different from what is mentioned in this guide:

Hey there! Do you have root access to the server? If so, it looks like the first entry from the docs page at How to Set Up Calendars and Contacts | cPanel & WHM Documentation hasn't been completed: 0 -
Thanks @cPRex. Is there any way I can determine from the front end if the Calendar and Contacts Server plugin is installed? I have access to the cPanel. Not sure yet if I have root access. I am working with the website developers to reach out to the hosting provider. 0 -
You would know if you had root access as you would own the entire server. There would not be a way for a cPanel user to confirm this package exists, but since you're lacking the interface I expect you to see, that tells me it is not installed. Here's what that should look like: 0 -
Yes, the interface is clearly different. All I can see is the default Roundcube calendar. The hosting provider has migrated all my previous events into the default calendar, but there is no option to use CalDAV to add that calendar to a client such as Thunderbird. Also, my contacts are missing. Looks like somebody's chopping onions in the room. 0 -
It definitely is an issue with that machine missing the tools necessary to perform this function. Your only option is to reach out to the hosting provider. 0 -
Hi I'm having similar issues with the calendar as well. When I logged in to our webmail today to checkout our calendar, a notification came up to say "The Horde webmail application has been removed in cPanel & WHM version 108. All Horde email, contacts, and calendars will be automatically migrated to Roundcube." However when I go to the Calendar tab, it is empty. So I went to the Configure Calendar and Contacts client here: Where then this comes up: I've tried copy pasting the "Calendar" URL from both under the "Secure SSL/TLS URLs" and the "Non-SSL/TLS URLs" into the "CalDAV URL" field in this window: After clicking the "Save" button, from the bottom right corner of the screen these type of notifications come up: sometimes the notification also says "Saving" or "Unable to add default calendars". Would appreciate it if we could get help on this, perhaps I'm doing something wrong All the email accounts associated with our webmail can't access their calendars at the moment 0 -
@shemsicssb - do you have root access to the server, or just cPanel access? 0 -
Hi, I have a similar issue with the calendar server location. Before, the mail client setting and calendar settings are in the same place. I have created a ticket on this, 94784542. Thank you 0 -
@jehona.eslais - I see we recommended ensuring the CCS server tools are installed on the machine, but we haven't heard back from you if that took care of things. Let us know through the ticket if you still see issues! 0 -
Update on my situation:
My hosting provider has updated the cPanel version to 116.0.9 and installed the necessary CCS Server tools. I am now able to use the CalDAV and CardDAV features both via Roundcube and third party clients such as Thunderbird.
Thanks to all those who replied to my query.

I'm glad that's all it took to get things working - thanks for following up!
