    A forwarder is just a rule for the mailserver, it has neither mail box storage nor credentials to authenticate you for sending mail. I assume you were thinking of something like this? - using your free Gmail account to send from a different alias (your Cpanel forwarder address) :

    Thanks @xpy-xpy I understand its fairly lightweight and your reply quickly clarifies it for me. We do a lot of this on desktop Gmail as users just want one mail app to do everything but I was unsure on where to start on an iPhone. I'll do a search for Gmail alias on an iPhone for tips. Might be better to set up a test one for myself to see what works and doesn't. Its going to be clunky whatever we do.
