Udating to cPanel & WHM version 112 Question
Looking at options to prepare for this update and which new OS to go with.
My question is will this new cPanel/WHM update still support the multiphp editor and manager with the current php options for all the supported OS listed with cPanel? Or will you be dropping support for deprecated php versions inside Multiphp editor?
I'm asking because I need to keep php56 for a little while longer.
Alma Linux told me I can use php56 but only through a third party like cPanel and told me to ask you whether you will continue to support deprecated php versions in Multiphp editor with cPanel & WHM version 112?
Sorry to be a pain but unfortunately my hands are tied for a year or so before I can get rid of reliance on php 5.6, 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3.
Thanks.

You might want to look at CloudLinux's alt-php/hardened PHP. They support a lot of older versions of PHP that the OS many no longer support 0 -
I would also cast my vote for CloudLinux. It's worth noting that version 110 is just now in the Edge tier, so I don't have any details on version 112 yet as it's not even in a pre-release state. 0 -
So you're saying its possible that version 112 won't have the Multiphp editor feature then? 0 -
No, I'm not saying that at all - we have no plans to remove that tool as that is a core feature of cPanel. I do think we need to clarify what is handled by cPanel and what is handled by CloudLinux. Details on what *cPanel* supports directly can be found here: Introduction to PHP | cPanel & WHM Documentation Details about the PHP versions available through *CloudLinux* can be found here under the "PHP Selector" option: Profitability Features - CloudLinux 0 -
Okay I went with Alma Linux and see that the option to use php 5.6 isn't available anymore under "Multiphp Editor". Starts at php 7.2 to 8.1 and that's it. Kind of a bummer but guess I have no choice and will have to deal with it. Thanks for the replies. 0 -
If you need older versions of PHP, look into CloudLinux. They offer hardened versions of older PHP. 0 -
