System Emails Not Being Sent
Hello! I know I must be missing something simple here, but am racking my brain trying to find it. I have setup a new server and have started the process of migrating accounts from one server to another. Any system email being sent from WHM (ie. cpanel@subdomain.maindomain.com or [system]) will not send. Now the weird part is that maindomain.com is setup on the server and utilizes Office365 for its MX records. Whenever I try to force the system messages from the Mail Queue, it will show that it is trying to relay those emails to the Office365 email server which isn't correct. Why isn't the email being sent from the server when clearly subdomain.maindomain.com is different than maindomain.com.
One thing I did notice when I ran exim -bt root is that it is showing this:
hostmaster@maindomain.com
<-- root@subdomain.maindomain.com
router = dkim_lookuphost, transport = dkim_remote_smtp
host maindomain-com.mail.protection.outlook.com [104.47.58.110] MX=0
host maindomain-com.mail.protection.outlook.com [104.47.55.110] MX=0
But I have absolutely no clue why this is happening. What am I missing. Something completely simple I am sure.
Thank you for any assistance!

Hey there! Do you have a different MX record configured for the subdomain? If not, it would be using the MX record fo the main domain to send messages, which is likely why you're hitting the Office365 system. 0 -

Thank you for messaging so quick. I thought that too, so I created an MX record for subdomain.maindomain.com to use another external MX server (not Office365) and it still shows Office365. So confusing.0 -
That's just odd - if you do a "dig MX domain.com" and "dig MX sub.domain.com" do those show the different MX records in place? 0 -

I see our team recommended that you contact AWS directly about the firewall situation on that machine. Let us know if they are able to help! 0
