Unzipping my website Zip file is taking quite a long time on Cpanel
Good evening team, I am writing to you because I have a problem concerning the decompression of the zip file of my website on Cpanel. Indeed this one takes a lot of time the file in question is 8.23 Gb I downloaded it on the server by the file manager of Cpanel once the download was finished I selected the file in question and I launched the decompressing since yesterday 5:00 p.m. until today 6:00 p.m. the file still has not decompressed. Please are there any other ways to make the file decompress faster?
I specify that I stopped the process since it lasted but in the destination folder of the Zip file nothing was decompressed in almost 24 hours
Cordially

Hey there! It sounds like you only have cPanel access to the server, and not full root access. The hosting provider could be limiting your account's CPU usage or I/O throughput to keep the overall resource usage of the server low. There isn't a way to speed that up, so it would be best to reach out to the host for more details. 0 -
Good evening, thanks for your answer. For anyone who would encounter the same problem, in my research I saw that it was possible to unzip large zip files on Cpanel via SSH using the Putty software. I'm decompressing my site right now. I'm not going to go into too much detail but there are some configuration to do and it works, it takes time but you can clearly see the progress of the files and during the internet connection problems even if the progress stops a bit resume decompressing where it left off unlike the Cpanel manager where you wait without knowing what is happening in the background. 0
