Spam Assasin
Can someone advise me on some filtering logistics, please?
When using both Spam Assassin and Global Filters, which one takes priority?
I have entered a global filter that rejects certain TLD's (delete), and I have also enabled Spam Assassin and its relative Spam Box with the default level setting (5). I was hoping for the Global filtering to take priority, and for Spam Assassin to handle the remaining mail... however, those unwanted TLD emails appear to be getting to the Spam Box.
It's not necessarily a bad thing as they are getting filtered as spam anyway... but I am assuming, then, that Spam Assassin filters first... and there is no way to alter this?

Cripes... now my global filter is doing the opposite... when I use the test tool, the result is as it should be... but as far as actual mail goes... it's blocking it all. TLD Filter From does not end with .com and From does not end with .ca and From does not end with .net and From does not end with .org Discard Message And it started blocking everything... 0 -
Hey there! SpamAssassin happens before the messages are filtered, as that is built in to Exim itself. I can't say for sure what is happening with the second issue where that filter is blocking everything, but you're always welcome to create a ticket with our team if you're like us to take a look. 0 -
OK...thank-you for confirming that. I will have to wait for a weekend or late evening to retry the global filtering... as it's a business and don't want to affect their email during normal hours. But I will do... thanks for your reply. 0 -
