cPanel installation

Hi to all im a rookie with cpanel, i just tried to install cpanel on unbuntu 22.04 but is not compatible, the question is if i may install cpanel on a new server and maintain my actual web server and manage this web server from the new cpanel server? cPanel must run on the same web server? The version of cpanel is for Education institution (cPanel & WHM), the web server is in ubuntu 22.04 with the appropriate LAMP and Wordpress. I have another question i give you an ip to validate the institution but that ip is not the web server ip, do you need the server IP?

  Hey there! We currently only support Ubuntu 20.04, so trying to use version 22 would not work. If you build with a version 20.04 system, I would expect things to work well.

  Thanks cPRex, But, cPanel must be installed in the web server or i may install it in another server?

  I'm not sure I understand the question, but cPanel also installs the webserver. It has to be installed on a brand new server immediately after the operating system, where no other work has been performed yet.

  The site is running php 5.6, witch will be the best OS to install cPanel with this version of php?

  PHP 5.6 is EOL, and no longer included in the cPanel product. It has nothing to do with the OS, because cPanel provides the PHP versions. If you want older PHP, you'll need to purchased a CloudLinux license and use their PHP packages instead.

  You would have to use CloudLinux in order to install older PHP versions.
