Mail messages disappeared
Hi, I'm having problems with my emails. The mailbox in question takes up about 1.2 GB of space on the server, but both from webmail and from the browsers I use (thunderbird on pc and IOS mail on mobile) they don't see all the mails.
Furthermore, on a weekly basis, i.e. every Saturday, the emails from the trash relating to the previous week disappear.
Given the space occupied by this mailbox, I assume that the messages are still stored somewhere on the server.
How do I recover them and make them visible again in their respective folders?

What happens when you send a test message to the mailbox? Anything in /var/log/maillog ? Has the hosting account been over quota recently? Often reindexing the mailbox can help:
Hi, in mailog there is only login and logout mail account, the quota is unlimited, so it's not a space issue. I followed your suggest and reindexed the mailbox but nothing. Finally I checked "Trash Exipire Time" and it disabled. can you give me any other suggestions to solve this problem?0 -
What do you see in the /home/account/mail/yourdomain.com/mail/cur/ directory? Can you see and open messages there? (I am assuming mailbox format is maildir). 0 -

Hi, my patch is: /home/xxxx/mail/xxx.com/account_mail/mail/cur/ and in this directory there are only 15 files.0 -
At this point I would look into what specifically is taking up 1.2 GB of space, before opening a ticket with Cpanel. 0 -
Hi, I double checked and most of the emails are sent, so 1.2gb mostly sent. However, the problem that every week automatically deletes the trash remains to be solved. All emails older than a week. Besides the settings in WHM, are there other places where this setting can be done? Or is it possible that mail browsers such as thunderbird or Outlook or IOS mail have settings such as to empty the trash from week to week? 0 -
There wouldn't be anything on the server side that would configure the messages to delete once a week. Is it possible there is a user checking this account with a mail client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, and they have some setting there that could cause this? 0 -

Hello, thanks for the information, but I had already checked the email client settings and none of them set the cancellation of emails after a certain number of days. That is, the function is disabled. If you can give me any other suggestions, I'd be happy.0 -
I don't have a good explanation for that behavior at this time. If you have full root access to the machine, you're welcome to submit a ticket so we can take a look at the system. 0
