Forwarding email to external email address on same domain
Hi,
I've been working a WordPress site that is now hosted on cPanel and I'm having a really difficult time getting cPanel to send out email to an email address.
This isn't helped by the hosting company being absolute *******, offering no guidance whatsoever.
I have little or no knowledge about this sort of thing and honestly I don't think it is my responsibility but anyway...
Currently, all email being sent from the forms on the site is being collected by the server webmail accounts. What I would like to do is get this email to send/forward to a Office365 outlook account instead of being collected by the webmail accounts.
The problem that I have is that the Office365 outlook is also on the same domain as the website, so I can't even forward the email as I'm basically trying to forward to an email address on the same domain and it doesn't like it.
With my limited knowledge I'm guessing that their Office365 outlook account needs to be setup with the smtp settings to connect to the hosting server, does that sound correct? Or should I be able to forward email from the webmail?
Can anyone please suggest what I need to do to get this setup please?
Any help would be greatly received.
Thanks

Hey there! Inside cPanel you want to go to Email Routing and make sure it is set to the "Remote" option - that will make the email server use DNS to determine where to send the message so they don't get delivered to any local accounts. Let me know if that helps! 0 -
Wow - that seemed to do it. I actually had it set to " Automatically Detect Configuration (remote)" but setting it to " Remote Mail Exchanger" seemed to fix it. I can't thank you enough. Hopefully helps someone in the future. 0
