Not using FPM. error_log directive from home/user/www/php.ini ignored for startup errors Startup errors don't go to the file specified in home/user/www/php.ini Instead they go to the file in the current folder, specified by the system php.ini. This is PHP 8.2 if it makes a difference. Please advise

  Depending on which handler you are using, you would be needing to edit either of these files: .user.ini, php.ini, .htaccess

  But unless you use FPM you cannot create in the main php.ini, a folder outside of document_root

  If you create a PHP info page, does it show any additional loaded configuration files?
