Bug in WP Toolkit cloning tool
We discovered a major bug in the wp toolkit clone tool.
We correctly selected the site to clone and the account to clone to and the new site is associated with the site we cloned from, causing redirects and just wrecked our site.
both sites are down and we had to pay one of our devs to fix it.
This has caused loss of business so we will be seeking compensation.
Proof is attached. As you can see, it mapped new clone to site/account we cloned from.
Needless to say, we are beyond p*ssed off and are now looking to replace cpanel with an alternative.

@webcoreinc - I'm sorry you had this experience! I'm not entirely sure I'm following along with exactly what happened with the redirection though. The best thing to do when this happens would be to submit a ticket, either to your hosting provider if your license is purchased through them, or to us directly, so we can see the issue in action. Since the problem has been resolved, there likely isn't much for us to check. If you have any additional details to provide or if you could somehow recreate this issue in a testing environment for us to look at, we'd be happy to investigate through a ticket. 0 -

We submitted a ticket and our reply was the email from legal which we have forwarded to our atty. The reply from support was about as helpfule as the one from Mr. Smart Guy cPRex. So congrats on awesome customer support. I've been using cPanel for as long as i can remember and I believe it's time we look for a replacement. There's a lot of alternatives these days. I'm in charge of all solutions for our companies and the call is 100% mine. WP Toolkit's cloning tool has a major flaw. I could have had my devs find it, but I already paid them to fix the disaster wp toolkit created and i"m not paying them any more to troubleshoot. Our goal was to simply get our sites back online. I was clear in my OP about the issue. We cloned a wp install from one acct to a new account. Wp toolkit somehow co-mingled the two accounts and wrecked both installs. Once again, I don't have every detail as we simply restored the cloned site form a backup and wiped the new acct and installed worpdress manually vs using wp tookits cloning tool as we no longer trust it. Bottom line, the clone tool is defective.0 -
Since you mentioned potential legal action, I have to lock this thread and stop further comments. 0
